It is all about seeing.
I’ve walked by this plant a hundred times.
I take our dog out in the morning before the sun has had a chance to burn off the dew. If I clear my head from being asleep and pay attention to my surroundings there are awesome things to photograph this early. This is the plant closest to the door, I see it multiple times a day, but early in the morning sun it comes alive with spider webs highlighted by the dew. An hour later the dew, and the shot are gone.
We walk by amazing scenes and details everyday without appreciating them.
Likewise on a golf cart trip years ago, I drove past this. I saw it in my peripheral vision but kept going. Something made me stop and go back even with a small fixed-lens camera, a Fujifilm X100F, get out of the cart, lay down in the grass to take this photo from a worm’s-eye perspective. You have to make yourself not only “see” the photo but then actually do something about it. Take the time. Take the shot. I see photos all day long but in the hustle of the day don’t stop to take them as much as I should.
