How far we’ve come…

Nikon Z7II with 24-70/4. ISO12800.

When I first picked up a camera we shot ASA100 or ASA400 color film. In black and white it was ASA125 or ASA400. Later there was a color film at ISO1600 and ISO3200 in black and white. They were terribly grainy with ugly color. Last night I photographed a party for a good friend and later in the evening I saw this young boy picking a treat from a candle-lit table. This is at ISO12800. Twelve thousand eight hundred. It is crazy that I can even consider shooting this let alone that it is more than acceptable in color and detail. It is even cropped a little!
