Hello!
Updated March 12, 2024
I know, I know, a blog. How original. But it’s a new year for a new endeavor, right?
I’m a teacher of photography and graphic design at a state college. I’ve also been an active commercial photographer for over 40 years. I’ve shot minor league baseball, large charity events, concerts, two sons in travel team sports, a wife who was a cheerleading coach, and 500 or so weddings. I’ve taken headshots, pet shots, product shots, team shots, golf foursomes, senior portraits, and more food and drink shots than I can possibly remember. I shoot for regional publications every month. In 2021 I won an ADDY award for my photography of a local beachside resort. In 2023 I won a Florida Magazine Association “Charlie” award for a photograph of a kingfisher in Space Coast Living.
As a hobby I’m learning to shoot wildlife, mostly birds here in Florida. My Photo Bucket List includes rocket launches at Cape Canaveral, a little more astrophotography, and to travel more and shoot wherever I go.
I’ve shot just about every camera possible in film and digital formats from 4x5 to Micro 4/3s. I use Fujifilm’s medium-format GFX system for most work, with Nikon and Fujifilm cameras for travel and fun.
